Reactions to Falling Man story
I don't think that in any way the pictures are meant to make someone feel offended but more to have them see that this is what happened and this is how it happened an we should all see that the way the pictures were taken and changed is away for others to try to see these events in a different way. It will never be something you can see in a positive way but instead of feeling hurt and torn and broken you can see the falling man and see that he doesn't look any way like that. people were hurt people did die but we all have to see the bigger picture and these photographs are a way for them to open our eyes and see what they see.
Avoid Mergers
A Good Example of avoiding mergers in this picture is the van or car thats blocking almost the hole man in the red golf cart so we don't really have a full picture of the firefighter but thats what makes it a good example of Avoiding Mergers. The Bad thing about this photo is that it doesn't look unusual or anything even though i believe the merge is still there.
Framing
I like this picture and i believe its a good example of framing because you can see theres a lot of lights in the picture but as soon as you see it the thing that mainly sticks out at you is the flag. The flag is set almost in the middle of the picture and is the brightly lit up in front of all the darkness. This Picture is believe is a good example of framing. The only thing i don't like is that the flag could have been shown a little closer but the way it is is fine.
Balanced
Balanced doesn't mean like balancing something on a balance beam its having the picture look balanced and not as if there was something missing. I chose this picture is a great example of balance because the shapes of the buildings around the middle building make the middle building seem in a way united yet taller and more sturdy. Along with the two smaller more fragile buildings to the sides. This Picture is believe is balanced. The bad thing about this picture is that there is a lamppost of some sort and it takes your eyes off the buildings.
Lines
Lines in this picture are everywhere. But whats interesting is how the camera is placed and how the picture is being taken the side of this building is leading us towards the puff of smoke we wouldn't even see if it wasn't for the way the picture was taken and the other buildings shape and structure of all the lines running down its side that lead us again towards the smoke. The only thin that i didnt like and doesn't really go with lines is the building in the back kind of makes the smoke look unclear in a way.
Rule of Thirds
I believe this is a good example of thirds because if we were to draw imaginary lines 3 by 3 in the middle the truck would be in the middle and i think the photographer while taking this picture had that in mind because thats what they want us to focus on this part of the picture. The truck the officer the lamp post are all parts of the picture in Rule of Thirds.
Simplicity
a regular Person could have taken this picture thats how simple it looks. Simplicity is giving something enough visual attention to make it noticeable and here the building isn't evan that much in the picture but its mostly the smoke, And the smoke is enough to bring out attention to the burning building and then we see the big picture.

unusual and interesting Photos part 3
1.mainly connection with your subject
2.capture a story telling expression
2.capture a story telling expression
3.take a photo showing perspective.
Unusual and interesting photos Part 2
I chose this photo because as soon as you see it you wanna think "woah, whats going here why are they kissing in the street and why are there officers around" Its something with a lot of meaning to those people who were actually there at that moment. This photo won 1st place in the category Domestic News, and i believe it won for its focus on the two people on the street kissing rather than everyone around them. I think the judges were also wanting to know more about this picture as soon as they saw it and the fact the photographer happened to be at the right moment at the right time trying not to get mixed up in the riot just letting these two love birds do their thing.
Unusual and interesting photos Part 1
When i first saw his photos i thought to myself are these even really photos because they don't really look like photos. They play with your eyes and have little photo characteristics they almost look like paintings. I think he might have used a photoshop program or tilted the camera to take the photo at different angles then merged them all into one photo. I would like to go downtown and take photos there of the tallest buildings there but i don't really know one in particular.
This was my favorite because i recognized the T for T-mobile. So my guess is that its a t mobile building.
National Geographic warm up
I Really like this picture because of the detail it has and how you can see the reflection of what this person is looking at and it just a very beautiful picture.
I would probably send this picture to a photo contest because its just not something you can go to your backyard and take its something that requires time and effort and a lot of patience.

Photo Manipulation and Ethics
This Type of photoshop really can have an effect on people because to the people that witnesses these events, its like your trying to change how things were to please others when to them it was already a great moment and changing that for them must make them feel heartbroken and unappreciated.
The Picture of the Israeli Prime minister where the woman were changed into men i believe is the most unethical simply because if it were any other picture i would understand enhancing it to make it seem more dramatic but to remove woman? Why ? There was nothing wrong with the woman in the picture what difference does it make if its just all men ? I Don't know either but that photo didnt necessarily need to be changed.

I think this is the most unethical photo here because the woman in the picture is obviously in pain and only she feels that kind of emotion in her and since this is about her and what she's witnessing at this moment i don't think its very fair for people to want to change anything about it because she knows what happened and to change that it makes her feel like the truth of her pain isn't good enough for people so they feel the need to have to change things and i don't believe thats very respectful or just right or ethical in other words evan if the change wasn't a big deal the fact that they changed is unethical.
40 greatest photos taken
Ive chosen this photo because it has so much meaning to one person yet many people know what its like to be kept away from their loved ones at one point or another which is why when we see it we're overcome with emotion at her reaction and how its focused on her and her little girl rather than having a general photo.
This picture right here is probably in the top 40 because no one truly knows what this little boy is feeling evan though we're all sad to see him receive the flag for his father the lighting and the moment that this photo was taken is just filled with emotion and its one of kind.
Here we have a police officer right in front of us yet we don't pay attention to him as soon as we see this picture. The first thing we see is the couple kissing in the middle of the rode while theres chaos happening. This picture is just to show that in the middle of violence and anger there will always be love.
Touching people
1. This photo essay is interesting in almost all the pictures there's some physical contact.
2. I would not feel confortable just because i don't know how the other person would react.
3. Going off and telling a joke and capturing the reaction of the people.
4. I like all the photos they all have a meaning and they all capture you attention and make you wanna think "whats going on in this picture?"

The Cameras history and information
1. Camera Obscura - Inside a completely dark room, a tiny hole is created in one wall. Through the hole light is focused, and the outside scene is projected (upside down) on the opposite wall.
2.In the 17th century, the modern camera came one step closer when Isaac Newton and Christian Huygens perfected the understanding of optics and the process of making high quality glass lenses.
3. Film was added by Joseph Niepce
4. Modern cameras and older cameras still take pictures and still have some sort of film.
5. Digital cameras use digital film which stores everything in a computer rather than in a roll of film.
6.Auto The camera will completely control flash and exposure. On most cameras this is labelled "auto", on others simply "A". Some cameras only have (P)rogram.Program automatic-assist, just point and shoot. Unlike full auto mode, you can usually control flash and a few other camera settings.
7. Portrait To attempt to blur out the background, camera will try to use the fastest available lens setting.
8. To freeze fast motion in pictures the camera will use higher shutter speed.
9. Basically to get the camera ready to take the picture.
10. Disabled Flash
no flash. There are many cases where you may not want flash at all. The mood of the photograph can sometimes be more dramatic when the natural light is used.

11. Auto Flash in most cameras its set as a default and it takes the pictures when they think they the pictures need light.
12. To much light will cause the picture to look washed out.
13. Not enough light the picture will look to dark.
14. a "stop" is relative measurement of light .
15. its is 1 stop brighter in the new planet.
16 2 stops are brighter if there are 4 suns instead of two.
17. longer shutter more light.
18.Shorter shutter less light.
19. You can control the aperture by setting the "Aperture Opening", also known as an F-Stop.
20. Smaller F-stops numbers = larger openings
larger openings = more light

Single-Lens Reflex
In the single-lens reflex camera the photographer sees the scene through the camera lens. This avoids the problem of parallax which occurs when the viewfinder or viewing lens is separated from the taking lens. Single-lens reflex cameras have been made in several formats including 220/120 taking 8, 12 or 16 photographs on a 120 roll and twice that number of a 220 film. These correspond to 6x9, 6x6 and 6x4.5 respectively (all dimensions in cm). Notable manufacturers of large format SLR include Hasselblad, Mamiya, Bronica and Pentax. However the most common format of SLRs has been 35 mm and subsequently the migration to digital SLRs, using almost identical sized bodies and sometimes using the same lens systems.
Folding Camera
The introduction of films enabled the existing designs for plate cameras to be made much smaller and for the base-plate to be hinged so that it could be folded up compressing the bellows. These designs were very compact and small models were dubbed vest pocket cameras. Folding rollfilm cameras were preceded by folding plate cameras, more compact than other designs.
Box Camera
Box cameras were introduced as a budget level camera and had few if any controls. The original box Brownie models had a small reflex viewfinder mounted on the top of the camera and had no aperture or focusing controls and just a simple shutter. Later models such as the Brownie 127 had larger direct view optical viewfinders together with a curved film path to reduce the impact of deficiencies in the lens.
Subminiature Camera
Cameras taking film significantly smaller than 35 mm were made. Subminiature cameras were first produced in the nineteenth century. The expensive 8×11 mm Minox, the only type of camera produced by the company from 1937 to 1976, became very widely known and was often used for espionage (the Minox company later also produced larger cameras). Later inexpensive subminiatures were made for general use, some using rewound 16 mm cine film. Image quality with these small film sizes was limited.
Aperture: An opening, hole, or gap
Shutter: A Mechanical Divice on a camera that opens and closes to control the time of photographic exposure.
Exposure: a picture of a person or scene in the form of a print or transparent slide; recorded by a camera on light-sensitive material.
Depth of Field: The distance between the nearest and the furthest objects that give an image judged to be in focus in a camera.
F Stop: This is the number assigned to determine the aperture, or size of the lens opening. A high f-stop number means a small amount of light is allowed in, which would be used to avoid an overexposed image. A low f-stop number means a large amount of light is let in, as you might use to shoot at a high shutter speed without getting a dark image.
Focal Length: The distance between the center of a lens or curved mirror and its focus.

Masters of Photography favorites
Tina Modotti
Roses
Berenice Abbott
Canyon: Broadway and Exchange Place
First photos
This is Jessica, I really liked this picture of her because she's smiling but not directly at the camera which makes it have some meaning to the photo. There were other photos like this but this photo was taken in a way where it shows her front side with her head tilted to her right and in general this picture is very pretty and i believe it can get others to think "what is she thinking and smiling about?" when they see it so it gives the picture meaning.
I really don't like this picture of Jessica because its titled and so its not centered on her. Also She bas her eyes closed and isn't smiling and evan though the color and length of the picture is nice the way it was taken and that she's looking straight down and the fact she blinked makes it my least favorite picture out of all of them.
